Our concept

In the CDSC nursery program, children ages 1 to 3 years are lovingly supervised by professional German caregivers. The nursery program is based on core values of security, esteem, free play, shared joy, care-based relationship, and independent development of motor skills. Our nursery is located in a separate building on the CDSC school grounds, with its own child-friendly, fenced yard.

Support of individual development

Our mission is to provide your children with an environment in which they can play and experiment independently while we support them when needed. To these ends, we have a series of rooms in our facility for different purposes - a painting and crafting room, an exercise room, and a quiet room with books and massage stuff - in which we accompany the children during their daily activities. Children learn and grow in all areas of life. They are supported in their mental and physical development in keeping with their own growth patterns and according to their interests. Our primary focus is on active and undisturbed development of motor skills.

"It is essential that children discover as many things as possible for themselves. If we are to solve all problems for a child, we deprive him what is the most important for his mental development. A child who has achieved something by self-directed experimentation acquires a very different kind of knowledge than one who is offered a complete solution. "
(Emmi Pikler)

Activities and Projects

While we have plenty of indoor activities to interest the children, we take them outside often. We regularly take walks, play in the gym and on the playground, and take excursions into the surrounding area where the children always discover lots of new things to investigate! At various intervals and observation periods, we lead the children through smaller projects on specific topics.

Cooperation with parents

It is important for us to have a strong partnership with parents; this helps parents to feel comfortable with the nursery program, and gives children a sense of safety when being given into our care. Twice a year, we hold parent-teacher conferences to keep you individually informed about the growth and development of your child, and about the way they interact in our group.
