Over the past two weeks, the kindergarten received some special visitors: the 6th grade students came twice with their German teacher, Ms. Brinkmann, to read stories to the younger children in the kindergarten groups.

The sixth graders sat down in small groups with the kindergarten children and read a colorful selection of picture books and stories. For the older children, it was a great opportunity to practice reading spontaneously and fluently. At the same time, the kindergarten children enjoyed the visit from the “big kids” and the exciting stories they got to hear.

The encounter was a complete success for both sides: the sixth graders showed great commitment and empathy while reading aloud, and the children listened enthusiastically. There was a lot of laughter, amazement, and learning—a wonderful morning that will certainly be remembered and gladly repeated.
