Movement, team spirit, and the desire to make a positive difference – these were at the heart of this year’s SOS Children’s Village Charity Run, followed by the Sports Day at the Christian German School Chiang Mai.
From the very beginning of the day (June 18, 2026), there was a special atmosphere across the campus. Under the motto “Those who move, make a difference!”, students from all grade levels took to the track to raise funds for SOS Children’s Villages and support children and families facing difficult circumstances across Asia.
With every lap they completed, the students demonstrated determination, perseverance, and above all, compassion. The motivation of the runners was inspiring, and the excitement along the course could be felt everywhere. It quickly became clear that sport is about much more than physical activity: it brings people together, strengthens communities, and teaches us to take responsibility for others.
Following the charity run, the campus transformed into a vibrant sports arena. During this year’s Sports Day, students had the opportunity to showcase their skills, endurance, and teamwork at a variety of exciting stations. Whether taking part in challenging competitions, creative activities, or cooperative games, enthusiasm, mutual support, and countless smiles could be seen throughout the day.
Also the youngest members of our school community took part in the day’s activities: our kindergarten students enjoyed a cheerful water fight, providing a welcome way to cool off in the summer heat. With lots of laughter, splashing water, and bright smiles, even our youngest learners showed that community spirit and the joy of being active know no age limits.
One of the highlights was the strong sense of community across all age groups. Older students took on responsibility, supported the younger ones, and together with the entire school community created an encouraging and welcoming atmosphere.
The day was not only a sporting highlight of the school year but also a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when a school community comes together – perfectly reflecting our motto:
Those who move, make a difference!
