Towards the end of the school year, the students of grades 6 and 7, together with their teachers, set out on a trekking tour near Pai.
We started our trip with shopping at the market, after which we went to a waterfall, where the picturesque natural spectacle invited us to enjoy a swim. After that we started our trekking tour. We made our way through the dense jungle, uphill and downhill, until we reached our accommodation in a village of the Karen tribe at an altitude of about 1,400 meters above sea level. Here we spent the night in a cozy wooden house on the outskirts of the small village. The sunset in front of the Thai mountain scenery and the view of the summit of the third highest mountain in Thailand – Doi Chiang Dao – were very impressive.
After breakfast, we continued trekking and for about three hours through the wonderful nature to the next mountain village of Lahu, where we were going to camp for the night. Once there, we could cool off, swim in the river and review all the impressions of our tour so far over dinner.
The third day started very turbulent! After breakfast, we boarded a homemade bamboo raft with our luggage and floated down the river. Our trip ended with a visit to the elephants, which we fed and bathed. In the late afternoon we all arrived back at school tired but happy.
This tour will remain in our memories as a highlight for a long time!
