Last Saturday, June 7, 2025, was the annual CDSC Funfair. We are delighted to have welcomed so many visitors!
As always, there was a large flea market in the gym, a silent auction where visitors could bid on a variety of gift vouchers and jewelry, and a tombola with great prizes such as backpacks, stuffed animals, sports watches, and even a bicycle.
Our students offered exciting activities such as tin can throwing, mini golf, a dunk tank – where even our school principal took a seat – and creative activities such as face painting, tattoos, and painting small figures. One classroom was even transformed into a real “house of horrors” that only the bravest dared to enter.
At various locations on the school campus, students in grades 4 to 9, in collaboration with Ms. Berit Klasing, exhibited their masterpieces and also invited guests to create their own artworks. This was certainly a highlight of this year’s Fun Fair.
As a counterpoint to the noisy commotion on the school grounds, the kindergarten team offered a story tent. In the cool room, stories could be listened to every half hour. The offer was eagerly taken up: kindergarten children, school children, and even some parents listened and watched spellbound. The beetle “Immerfrech” crawled across the stage with his stick puppet friends. The storytelling theater was about the greatest treasure in the world and “Ferri, the brave fish who goes for help.” The well-known picture book classics “Elmar,” the colorful elephant, and “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” also stomped and crawled through the Japanese Kamishibai storytelling theater.
In between all the fun, visitors could refresh themselves with ice cream or a shake in the cafeteria. For those with a bigger appetite, there were bratwurst, sushi, pizza, curry, burgers, and much more. Parents also offered a wide selection of cakes and delicious coffee in the café.
Many thanks to all the visitors, vendors, sponsors, classes, teachers, and helpers who made this day a wonderful celebration! We are already looking forward to next year!
Last but not least, we would like to thank our this year’s sponsors. Without them, an event of this magnitude would not have been possible.
