On 22 and 23 September 2021, pupils in grades 8 to 12 had the opportunity to take part in the Christian German School’s Juniorwahl 2021. Together with about 1.4 million young people at 4,500 schools, they were allowed to simulate the 2021 Bundestag election.
The Juniorwahl is a project in which pupils can simulate the voting process one week before a state election, federal election or European election and vote at their school. Although the votes have no influence on the outcome of the real election, they give important indications of the political interest of young people in Germany.
53 pupils cast their votes at CDSC. This corresponded to 94.6% of those eligible to vote. There were no invalid votes.
Annalena Baerbock (Die Grünen) received the most first votes with 34%, Die Grünen received the most second votes with 30.2%.
