Today, Thursday, March 20, 2025, another chapter of our forest project took place at CDSC, where the 6th grade students, together with staff from FORRU (Forest Restoration Research Unit), tackled the next step in this year’s reforestation program. Today’s aim was to plant collected seeds and repot seedlings that have already grown in order to actively contribute to reforestation.

Among other things, the seeds of a certain tree species had to be prepared before planting by trimming the seed’s wings so that the seed can grow properly. After the successful planting of two different tree species, everyone set about transplanting the seedlings brought by FORRU into larger bags. The children took care of the little trees, making sure there was enough soil in the bags and that the roots had enough space to grow.

At the end of the day, they could look back proudly on the work they had done. Now we hope that the little trees will settle in well in their new home and grow quickly so that they will soon be an important part of the forest.
