On January 23, 2026, secondary school students in grades 11 and 12 at CDSC took part in the “SDG Games 2030.” Mr. Venzky-Stalling led this future-oriented workshop. The aim of the game was to work together to achieve the sustainable development of a society that generates economic growth through innovation and technology, while at the same time conserving our planet’s resources and maintaining social justice and peace.
At the beginning of the game, each player tried to achieve their own game goal in a comprehensible way with the necessary means. In the course of the game, the students realized that only joint development in all three of the above-mentioned areas is truly sustainable and began to cooperate and support each other. Moving from their own goal orientation to working together toward a common goal under the motto “Leave nobody behind,” the students managed to reflect on the topic of sustainability from the meta-level of a game in order to critically question their own actions. Thus, for the participants of the SDG Games 2030, the workshop was not only a technical input in the morning, but also an impetus for critical thinking and reflection on the actions of people in today’s society.
Many thanks to Mr. Venzky-Stalling for making this experiential workshop possible.
