The Thai department of the Christian German School Chiang Mai organized this year’s Songkran Festival activities which were held on Friday, April 22nd, 2022. The events were held in order to cultivate and continue Thai traditions and cultural events.
The Songkran tradition is important to Thai people and the tradition has been honored in Thailand for a very long time. Every year Songkran has also attracted the attention of visiting tourists. The students, parents of students, current staff, and former staff were invited to participate in interesting activities at the Songkran festival event.
There were two activities in which everyone was able to take part:
- Rod Nam Dum Hua: a tradition that involves the giving of gifts from young people to older people.
- Tud Tung: the northern tradition of creating colorful decorations.
The feedback from the students has been excellent. Everyone very much enjoyed the activities.
