Outstanding 2,000 laps – almost 800 km were completed at our CDSC donation run just before the Christmas vacations! The entire school community ran highly motivated to raise funds for our CDSC Forest project with every lap. A wide range of support, but especially the willingness of the sponsors to reward the participating runners with a donation amount, made this beautiful action for such a positive cause possible.
After class 9 had prepared all runners with a warm-up program, the primary and secondary school started on different routes around the school grounds to run for 45 minutes in a good mood and good music with the awareness that with every lap they are committed to the care and preservation of our forest, and thus significantly contribute to a climate-conscious future. The children of the kindergarten and nursery also ran the entire time on parkour prepared for them in the sports hall.
The staff members of the CDSC had prepared the running routes excellently so that the event could be successfully carried out without any accidents. Thanks are also due to the large number of parents who served as marshals, lap counters, water and fruit suppliers, and tirelessly cheered the participants and pushed them to greater and greater achievements.
In the end, what remains is not only the memory of an event that once again shows the special community of the CDSC, but also a handsome sum of donations for the forest project and, last but not least, a number of brilliant runners who, as class or group winners, were awarded and rewarded for their achievements with vouchers from the companies Decathlon, 50 Fly and virblatt – many thanks to the sponsors for their generous gifts.
