When one makes a journey …
…then he can tell a story. The pupils of class 6 will certainly remember this extraordinary school trip (which did not have a good beginning) for a long time to come. After the total number of children had already been reduced from 19 to 15 for various reasons before the start of the trip, we unfortunately had to bring another one back to the hospital in Chiang Mai after our first section in the jungle with a broken arm …
But above all the many unique positive impressions will remain unforgettable, which one can experience far away from any civilization, in the middle of the jungle with indigenous mountain peoples. The program included trekking tours through the wilderness in the north of Thailand, swimming under gigantic waterfalls, but also with elephants. We moved on bamboo rafts through wild water to remote villages, which cannot be reached by road. In the evening we warmed ourselves at a campfire before we fell asleep in a simple wooden hut to Lahu – songs and guitar sounds.
Three days without a smartphone or any other electronic devices, sometimes even without electricity – a gift in these days, which the children enjoyed very much, and which united them even more as a group.
