U8/U10 Football Friendly Tournament

On November 22nd the CDSC U8 and U10 soccer teams participated in the CMAC Football Friendly Tournament hosted by Prem Tinsulanonda International School.
10 schools participated in the tournament, where each team played 2 games of 14 minutes. The goal was to let the youngsters play, experience the feeling of “competition” and above all have fun. Being the first tournament for many of our players, the excitement and nerves were high for some, but these soon calmed down when the games and fun started.

Our U10 team played their first game against GIS in which they conceded an early goal, which unfortunately was not recovered despite numerous attempts by our players Nikki (Gr. 4) and Yani (Gr. 4). In the second match against CMIS the team was more accustomed to the situation, and that showed in the goal of our striker Kornelius (Gr. 4). A very good defensive performance by Chen Chen (Gr. 4) and our goalkeeper Praan (Gr. 4) were not enough to prevent the goal of the opposing team in the last minute which would make the end score 1-1.

U8 showed the Lion spirit in the tournament, winning both games. There was a lot of running back and forth, until James (Gr. 2) scored the winning goal, both in the first game against VCIS and in the second against NIS. The games were very close, the excitement was intense, and our goalkeeper Tila (Gr. 2) managed to keep a clean sheet in both games!

All in all, we can say that everyone got to feel what it is like to play in a tournament, and everyone had fun! We look forward to the next one.
