Last Saturday (23 May 2026), CDSC held its annual graduation ceremony, during which both the middle school graduates and the Abitur Class of 2026 were formally honored. In a festive atmosphere, students, families, teachers, and numerous distinguished guests came together to celebrate this important milestone.

The evening traditionally began with the Thai Royal Anthem and the German National Anthem, followed by the ceremonial entrance of the graduates. Afterwards, our principal Jörg Häger, the Deputy Governor of Chiang Mai Mr. Siwa Thamikanon, the Deputy Ambassador of the German Embassy Bangkok Ms. Ebba Scholl, as well as our chairman of the board and representative of the Marburger Mission, addressed the audience and recognised the achievements of the students.

The ceremony became especially emotional during the various speeches dedicated to the graduates, as well as the heartfelt words shared by the graduating students themselves. The evening not only reflected on academic achievements, but also on shared memories, challenges, and the unique sense of community at CDSC.

One of the absolute highlights of the evening were the musical performances by Class 12, who created a true concert atmosphere through extraordinary dedication and impressive stage presence. With performances of “I Can’t Dance” by Genesis, “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen, and “Tage wie diese” by Die Toten Hosen, the students captivated the audience and received enthusiastic applause throughout the evening.

Following the shared dinner, the official certificate ceremony took place, during which the graduates were formally honored and bid farewell.

The following students were honored:

Middle School Graduates (Class 10):
Christian, Fabio and Leon

Abitur Class of 2026 (Class 12):
Chloe, David, Euphemia, Kevin S., Kevin X., Naomi, Sarah, Sonya, Square and Titan

As a grand finale to the evening, a special surprise awaited the guests: under the motto “We Rock,” the event transformed into a lively aftershow party filled with dancing, music, and celebration. The party was opened by Class 12 themselves with the energetic song “Shut Up and Dance” by Walk the Moon — the perfect beginning to an unforgettable evening.

Special thanks go to David Hester for his excellent moderation and extensive planning of the event. We would also like to sincerely thank Mrs. Caroline Brinkmann and Martin Brinkmann for their outstanding support with the musical performances — from rehearsing the songs to managing the setup and breakdown.

This year’s graduation ceremony was a dignified, emotional, and joyful farewell to our students.

Finally, a few words to our graduates:

You were a truly special graduating class! In line with this year’s yearbook motto “Building Bridges,” you have created many connections, overcome challenges, and enriched our school community in countless ways over the past years. A new chapter of life now begins for you — full of opportunities, new paths, and new bridges waiting to be built.

For your future and everything that lies ahead, we wish you nothing but the very best from the bottom of our hearts.

“Stay curious! Stay courageous! Conquer the world with heart and mind!”

We are incredibly proud of you!
